I went to Bohol last June 24 to celebrate my birthday. When I left Manila, it is raining very hard due to typhoon Falcon. But when I reach Tagbilaran Airport, the sun is shining brightly and the weather is very hot.
Tagbilaran City is the capital of Bohol and is known as the City of Friendship. I could really say that this indeed is the city of friendship because all the native people there are friendly and accommodating.
We proceed with the countryside tour. Our first stop is the Tarsier Encounter. Tarsiers are small animals that have very enormous eyes and they are nocturnal. They can also turn their head 180 degrees.
This is a picture of a mother tarsier carrying her baby. The father tarsier is separated from them because male tarsier tends to eat baby tarsiers.
Tarsiers cannot be taken care as a pet at home. If done, they tend to commit suicide. You cannot also take pictures of tarsiers with flash.
We ate buffet lunch at Loboc River floating restaurant. The premium buffet, more dishes than the regular dishes, cost 650 pesos. The food are delicious and it comes with free buko juice.
After eating the cruise began and the in-boat bands played many songs during the cruise. At the middle of the cruise, we stop over to watch the presentation of the native people dancing.
The trip winds up the river and ends at the Busay Falls and the boat make a u-turn afterwards to go back to where we started.
Next stop is the man-made forest. The man-made forest is composed of Mahogany trees. You will really notice the difference where is the start of the forest because as you pass by along the road, the man made forest if properly and evenly spaced.
Next destination is the Simply Butterflies Conservation Center.
Butterflies are day flying insect. Female butterflies most often have a round abdomen with a round hole for laying eggs, while male butterfly abdomens contain a top slit.
The butterfly’s life cycle consists of four parts, egg, larva, pupa and adult.
Moths on the other hand are nocturnal insects. Moths are said to be attracted to light.
Next we stop by to see the chocolate hills, we climbed 214 steps to reach the top to see the chocolate hills from the top view.
They are covered in green grass that turns brown during the dry season.
Next stop, we went to see Prony the Python.
Next we went to check the Church of Immaculada Concepcion in Baclayon.
Dress code is strictly implemented in the church so for those tourist not aware, they have some cloth to cover up your skins. 🙂
We also went to see the museum. But cameras are not allowed inside the museum.
And finally, last stop for our countryside tour is the blood compact
Then we went to Danao Eco Park to enjoy some extreme adventures the next day.
