I’m a reader of herword.com and when I learned that they would be celebrating their 10th year anniversary, I first checked the date if I’m free that day because I would really love to go. Luckily, it’s a holiday and I’m free that day.
Herword.com celebrated its 10th anniversary last November 30 at the Eastwood Central Plaza. I reserved my passport online but I only got and paid for it when I arrived at the venue. The passport is worth P100.
In the passport, the programme for the day was also listed.
There were various performances and discussions throughout the day. I was amazed by the great mind-reading skills of “Mental Assassin” Justin Piñon. He was blind folded and he can guess the serial number of the peso bill he was holding. Her Money columnist Mary Ann Colayco discussed Money Matters for Woman, Dr. Perry Dela Cruz gave us an informative idea about brave enhancement in a brave new way, Atty. Allen Liberato, Her Rights columnist talked about “Women and the Workplace: Their Rights, Their Remedies”, Dr. Malu Mangubat shared to us women’s role on how to avoid cancer.
Part of the program was the “HerWord Gives Back” charity auction for the benefit of Marifi Marinay, a 31 year-old HerWord reader suffering from an enlarged uterus and myoma uteri. “A Race for Treats”, an Amazing Race-inspired game was also held where selected participants were tasked to do one challenge after another. The first to finished the task wins a prize.
Ana Santos talked about “Happy Even After: The Fairytale Every Solo Mom Deserves”. Mr. Yuval Mann, CEO of Oro Gold Cosmetics, discussed Gold’s Benefit to the Skin. Afterwards, was the cooking demo by Flavors on Fire, followed by the Tanghalan Pilipino Performance and last but not the least was the grand raffle.
Passport holders also need to collect 16 stamps from the various booths. After completing it, they would submit it to the herword “claim your treats” booth. The completion of the 16 stamps entitled the passport holder a chance to win a special gift during the hourly raffle draw and freebies from the sponsor.
A passport holder can also avail free manicure or back massage service from nail a holics, free lunch from Hero Sausages or Flavors on Fire, free photoshoot, free hand writing analysis at her-o-scope booth, free consultation at her rights booth and free tarot card reading.
The P100 was truly worth it in exchange for all the freebies I got plus the fun and exciting day I had. I hope that they would hold another event like this in their next anniversary.
