Healthy Shabu Shabu Experience

I always taught that “Shabu Shabu” is a Chinese dish but when I search the net, it is actually a Japanese dish… From Wikipedia, Shabu-shabu (しゃぶしゃぶ , also spelled shyabushyabu?is a Japanese dish. The term is an onomatopœia, derived from the sound emitted when the ingredients are stirred in the cooking pot.

Healthy Shabu Shabu is one of the famous shabu shabu restaurants that is easily accessible to the people because of its branches locations are  inside the malls.

The interior of their restaurant at Robinsons Place Manila is quite small compared to other restaurants. There are a few people dining so we were able to be seated at once. It made me think why only a few people are dining in here and after browsing their menu, I may have a hunched why.

Most of the list in their menu is “set-menus” and pricey.

Each person at the table has his hot own pot where he can cook his meal.

A reference on how to have a delicious taste of your meal is displayed at the center of the table.

Each person has his own egg, special sauce (not in the picture) and spices too.

Here’s what we ordered:

Beef Tenderloin with Fish Fillet, Angus Beef with Shrimp, Lamb with Seafood Set B.

All 3 sets look like the picture above. Of course the difference only would be the meat but they all look almost the same in the picture.

Overall: The dishes are delicious and the serving size is really big. I also like their tips for a delicious taste of Shabu Shabu. It’s a big help especially for first time diners.

Visit them in their branches near you.
